Qatar-CERN agreement

2012-2016:

With the high quality of work achieved by the Qatari group of TAMUQ participating in the CMS experiment, it becomes natural that Qatar should contribute formally to CERN research activities, which the Qatari group initially started.

A workshop between CERN and Qatar was organized on October 2013 by the HEP TAMUQ group. Representatives were from: CERN international relations department, Qatar Foundation, Qatar National Research Fund, Texas A&M University at Qatar, Qatar University, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute and Qatar Computing Research Institute.

At the end of the workshop, It has been highly recommended to engage in formal agreement with CERN which will allow Qatari scientists and students to enroll in other programs: Education, Training, Summer internship.

CERN-Qatar ICA Agreement:

In its 179th session, the CERN council unanimously decided to approve the proposed Cooperation Agreement with the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.
